Voting for 141 seats in the National Assembly and 297 seats in the Provincial Assembly will take place on 8 February 2024 in Punjab. In Punjab, there are two main political factions running for office. The Pakistan Muslim League (N), led by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), led by former federal minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. After an unfavorable Supreme Court decision stripped them of their electoral insignia in the lead-up to the polls, the main party that was in power during the previous elections—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf—will be fielding its candidates as Independents. Election Result 2024 Sindh
Sindh has 61 seats in the national assembly and 130 seats are reserved for the provincial assembly, . The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has dominated Sindh Province politics for the past fifteen years. Starting with the 2008 general election, the PPP took control of Sindh Province. They would go on to win the province again in 2013 and 2018. Among Sindhi political parties, MQM Pakistan ranks second. Shaheed Bhutto’s PPP, GDA, and PMLN are among the regional parties in Sindh. For the upcoming 2024 election in Sindh Province, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has allied with the MQM and the JUI. Out of 61 seats in the National Assembly, the PPP will secure 35 in the upcoming election in February 2024. But out of 130 seats in the provincial parliament, the PPP has a 70 percent chance of winning. In Karachi, the MQM, the second-largest party, is now in the lead.
