Kashmir Day Public Holiday In Pakistan 2024 Notification

The Pakistani government has officially declared February 5, 2024, as a public holiday in observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, also known as Kashmir Day. This annual event is marked by a worldwide minute of silence at 10 am, demonstrating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination. The Cabinet Division, through a public holiday notice, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiris’ right to independence and self-determination as guaranteed by the United Nations Charter.

The Pakistani government has scheduled a worldwide minute of silence at 10 am and declared February 5th a national holiday in solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In a public holiday notice, the Cabinet Division reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiris’ right to independence and self-determination, as guaranteed by the United Nations Charter. The Cabinet Division has announced that 5 February, 2024 would be observed as a public holiday in observance of the “Kashmir Solidarity Day.” This announcement was made in a notification dated 26th January 2024 and posted on Saturday to the division’s website. In observance of Kashmiri Shuhada, a minute of silence will be observed at 1000 hours. On February 5, Pakistan observes Kashmir Day to show sympathy and support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Islamabad has long called for a global referendum on the contested province of Kashmir, which has kept tensions high between Pakistan and India.

The federal government has proclaimed February 5, 2024 (Monday) a public holiday in observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, as per a notice issued on Friday by the department. In a mark of solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their battle for freedom from India, the State of Pakistan will observe a one-minute silence at 10 am on February 5 (Monday), a public holiday, according to the announcement. This holiday is announced annually by the Pakistani government as a sign of sympathy with the people of Kashmir. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, federal workers will get a three-day weekend off.
